9/28/2009: CEO David Hall Attends ENMC Workshop on Developing Pediatric Measurement of CMTThe second workshop on Charcot-Marie-Tooth disorders organized by the European Neuro Muscular Centre (ENMC) was held from September 18-20, 2009, in the Netherlands.
Twenty-three participants from 9 countries attended this ENMC workshop on Outcome Measures and Clinical Trials in Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, which had as one of its main objectives the development of a pediatric impairment and disability scale for children with CMT.
David Hall, the CEO of the CMTA was invited to this meeting as the sole representative from a patient organization in United States because of the outstanding international reputation the CMTA has earned in developing treatments for patients with CMT.
The consequences of this meeting are that patients throughout the world will use the same outcome measures to determine whether specific treatments help patients with CMT, that there will be a pediatric outcome measure that will be used internationally for children with CMT and that the CMTA will remain in the forefront of developing treatments for all forms of CMT.
